Description:

Manufactured in Belgium in 1950, the second post-war year of manufacture for the 20 gauge superposed shotguns. Red bead front and brass mid bead sights on the matte vent rib, 2 3/4" chambers, choked modified/improved cylinder with ejectors. Standard upper barrel markings. The action, forearm hardware, break lever are relief engraved with a oak leaf, acorn and matte motif. In addition the left side of the receiver has a panel with a wooded scene of a fox carrying a pheasant back to its kits, the right side has two pheasants taking flight and two hunting dogs, one of which retrieving a downed pheasant, there are two pigeons on the bottom and there is a pheasant in a wooded scene on the trigger guard. Blue barrels, and gray finish on the remaining parts. Gold washed single trigger, tang mounted manual safety with gold "S", "U" and "O", and mounted with a nicely figured multi point checkered walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with a black hard rubber Browning buttplate. LOP 14 1/4".

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrels retains 99% original blue finish and virtually all of the original gray finish remains on the remaining surfaces. The trigger retains 99% plus original gold wash. The wood is also excellent. The stock is showing signs of the varnish just beginning to craze, otherwise there are only light handling/storage marks and sharp checkering. The engraving remains sharp. Mechanically excellent. An exceptionally nice, very early post-war Grade IV Superposed Belgium Browning shotgun.
