Manufactured from 1892 to 1912. Damascus barrel with single ivory bead sight on the solid matte rib marked "THE HUNTER ARMS CO MAKER, FULTON, N.Y.". 3 1/2" chambers with extractor. The frame, locks, trigger guard and break lever are engraved with fine scroll patterns. In addition each lock is marked "L C SMITH" and there are oval panels on each lock with two hunting dogs in a wooded scene and there is a gold inlaid hunting dog on the trigger guard. Each barrel is marked "XXX" with a crown over letter proof on the right barrel. The barrel flat is marked with the matching serial number only. The water table is marked with the matching serial number and the three line patent marking. Mounted with a checkered select walnut forearm with engraved hardware and ebony forend insert and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap, serrated buttplate and gold initial shield. LOP 14".

Refinished some time ago with almost all of the Damascus pattern remaining. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. The stock has been repaired at the upper wrist at the frame and the wood has been refinished remaining very fine with some minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are clear. The mechanics are fine.
