Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, the latter transitional with A-A bases but no wings. The top of the receiver is marked with the Imperial mum over the "99 Type" kanji markings, and the left side bears the Series 33 stamp, serial number, and Toyo Koyo, Hiroshima arsenal markings. Smooth pistol grip stock, with two piece buttstock, sling swivels and cupped buttplate. With a dust cover numbered "049" and a Mukden Arsenal (Occupied Manchuria/ Manchuko) bayonet, 15 3/4" single fuller blade, straight cross guard, smooth wood grips and metal sheath.

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina on the barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate, with light handling marks on the barrel and receiver. Stock is also excellent, with only a few mild pressure dents and scratches. The bayonet has light handling marks on the hilt and sheath. Mechanically very good. A very nice Hiroshima Production Type 99 that would be difficult to improve.
