Description:

Rare early SS officer's visor cap with peak front profile. This field gray wool visor has a black velvet band and a black lacquered visor with black piping and chin cord. A brass plated finish SS Totenkopf insignia appears on the velvet band with a brass plated Nazi party eagle with out-stretched wings clutching a wreath that surrounds the Nazi Swastika. The interior is lined with brown fabric and has a black leather sweat band, with no visible maker markings.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. There exterior has no holes, some fading, and wear overall. The pins have darkened with age to a brassy patina. The lining is very good, with minor wear. The sweat band is good, with several tears and some staining.
