Top of receiver is marked "jhv" over "41" for 1941, with two "eagle/56" proofs on the right side and an eagle firing proof on the left side. Correct and original components are stamped with "eagle/WaA56" or "eagle/56" proofs, with two "eagle/WaA56" proofs (very faint) are stamped on the right side of buttstock.

Very good. The rifle retains 70% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor spotting. The wood is very fine with some minor dings and scratches and a couple minor gouges, matching numbers except the bolt assembly.
