Produced at the Mauser factory in 1934, under the Nazi code system of marking, intended to obscure the extent of German rearmament before the start of open hostilities and subsequently commercially refurbished. Fixed sights, with "K" on the chamber and "S/42" on the toggle. "eagle/ N" commercial proofs on the barrel and extension, and S (both block and script) on the extension, frame and other components. Matching numbers on several components. Grips are checkered plastic, with nickel finished, alloy base magazine. With a matching magazine in a brown leather flap holster marked "CARL HEINICHEN/ DRESDEN/ 1934" and "WaA105" (Heinichen) on the inside.

Near mint as commercially finished and proofed, with 99% of the high quality blue finish, showing the start of a plum patina on the grip straps, mild handling marks and light edge wear. Grips are excellent, with mild pressure dents. Holster is good, with lost/ replaced stitching, a repaired belt loop, scuffs and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
