Massive H. Kneipp Heavy Percussion Target Bench Rifle

The extra heavy rifled barrel gauges at approximately .36 caliber percussion and has a shrouded pin front sight and an adjustable notch rear sight. The lock plate is marked "H. KNEIPP / WIESBADEN". Double set triggers and scroll trigger guard. Contrasting two piece full length stock with a horn end cap, iron ramrod pipes, flat buttplate (cut-out for a patch box), and three barrel wedges.

ConditionVery good. The rifle has a smooth brown-gray patina and a mixed gray patina on the trigger guard, along with some scattered minor pitting. Two barrel wedges are missing. The buttstock is a replacement with putty filled repairs under the bolster, near the upper tang on both sides and at the forearm juncture, a minor crack near the trigger guard, and a few cracks along the grain. The forearm is fine with some minor dings, pressure marks, and scratches with a repair near the forend cap (right side). A couple large chunks of horn are missing from the forend cap.
