Description:

Manufactured from the 1870s to circa 1895. This specimen is the variation without the forend. Blade front (missing bead) and notch rear sight on barrel marked with the Stevens & Co. address and patent date information. Blued with nickel plated frame, trigger guard, and crescent buttplate. Smooth straight grip stock.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 80% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The remaining metal surfaces retain 95% original nickel finish with some light blistering and some scattered loss along the edges. The nickel has a strong frost appearance. The stock is fine with numerous minor dings and scratches and a few minor pressure dents, with most of the varnish remaining.
