Produced in 1894, this is an attractive example of a Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle chambered in 40-65 WCF. German silver blade front and semi-buckhorn sporting rear sights, with the barrel marked "-MANUFACTUED BY THE- / -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN.CONN. U.S.A.-" ahead of the rear sight and "40-65 W.C.F." towards the breech. Casehardened frame with niter blue loading gate, bolt and trigger, marked on the lower tang with two patent dates and "- MODEL 1886-" on the upper tang. Smooth straight grip stock, with a metal forearm tip and curved buttplate.

Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing some light spotting and thin areas on the barrel and magazine, along with some light handling marks. The casecoloring is bright and vivid, with the underside of the frame and the forearm tip and buttplate turning a smooth silver, and the niter blue components are bright and vivid, with some fading on the loading gate. Stock is excellent, with light pressure dents and a few small scratches. Mechanically excellent.
