Description:

Marked "1855" on the barrel tang and "REMINGTON'S / ILION, N.Y. / 1855 / U.S." vertically behind the hammer. Equipped with the Maynard priming device, bayonet lug on top of the barrel, front sight, integral to the front double barrel band, and absent ladder rear sight with tapped hole ahead of the rear sight dovetail slot. One piece full stock with three barrel bands, trigger guard riveted to the trigger guard plate, iron ramrod with trumpet head and iron buttplate marked "U S" and "4" on the tang with "4" marked on both buttplate screws. The left stock flat is stamped "AR / V".

Rating Definition:

Fair. The barrel has been cleaned some time ago and now has a smooth brown-gray patina. The action has a mottled gray patina. The remaining surfaces mostly have a smooth brown patina. There is some minor pitting. The stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches and a few minor gouges, along with a few hairline cracks near the lock and side plates. Missing rear sight.
