Description:

An oversized nearly full stock flintlock gun with a sizeable 2 1/4" diameter opening at the cannon style muzzle. Manufactured without sights, the barrel is marked with the number "5" and two cross scepter proofs. The iron lock plate is unmarked with brass flash pan and vice screw. Smooth straight grip stock with brass ramrod pipes, side plate, trigger guard and flat buttplate. The stock also has a brass pintle which has an illegible marking. The buttplate tang is scrolled engraved. With an iron ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The brass and iron surfaces have been cleaned some time ago. Overall the brass has a smooth patina with areas of a darker patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a mixed gray patina with extensive deep pitting. The freshened stock is fine with some minor dings, pressure marks, and scratches (a few long scratches), a couple long shallow gashes, and a few cosmetic putty filled repairs.
