Produced without sights, with "crown/ W" and "crown/ S" on the upper left flat, "1847" on the upper right, (both pistols) "MR" on the right and "M1842" on the tang. The back action lock plate is marked "Mre Rle/ de Mutzig" behind the checkered hammer. Smooth stock, with a metal ramrod, faint stamps on the left side, and a steel cap on the bird's head butt.

Very good, with a mixed brown and gray patina on the metal components, dings on the muzzle, and light handling marks overall. Stock is very good, with sharp markings, numerous dents and scratches. Mechanically needs adjustment.
