Description:

Made by Frederic Barnes, this massive double barrel pistol features Damascus barrels and all other metal parts casehardened. The top of the solid concave barrel rib is marked "F. BARNES LONDON". The lock plate, hammers, barrel tang, trigger guard, buttcap and breech plug are lightly floral engraved with a band at the rear of the rib. Each lock plate is marked "F BARNES". Brass bead front sight, iron swivel ramrod with button head, double triggers and mounted with a full one-piece stock with checkered grip, butt compartment and silver thumb rectangle.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel has a dark patina with minor pitting and much of the Damascus pattern remaining. The ramrod swivel base has come loose from the barrels and needs to be reattached. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth brownish gray patina. The stock is ill-fitting to the barrels and remains very good with a few scattered minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are clear. The action functions fine, but the left trigger sticks back.
