The brass barrel has a muzzle opening approximately 1 1/4" and two crown/scepter proofs on the left side at the breech. A 8 3/4" long spring bayonet is mounted to the top of the barrel with the release mechanism on the upper tang. The lock plate is marked "WHEELER / & SON". Brass flat buttplate, trigger guard, and ramrod pipes, with smooth full length straight grip stock. Complete with a horn tipped wooden ramrod.

Very good. The brass has a polished appearance. The hammer and lock plate have a smooth gray patina with some minor pitting. The snap bayonet has a mottled gray patina with some minor pitting and an extremely weak spring that does not function. There is a large chunk of wood lose on the right side of the forearm, otherwise the stock is very good with numerous minor dings and scratches (a couple long scratches). Mechanically fine.
