The engraved lock plate is marked "G. GOULCHER" in a banner and the barrel is signed "COOK". The octagon rifled barrel gauges at approximately .44 caliber percussion with fixed sights. The ramrod pipes, trigger guard, forend cap, patch box and crescent buttplate are brass, with a light engraving on the patch box. Double set triggers and full length straight grip stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle has a smooth dark brown patina with some minor spotting and some minor flash pitting. The brass has a polished appearance. The stock is cracked near the toe, otherwise the wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically functions, but does not stay cocked.
