No maker's marks or proof stamps could be found on this unique takedown air rifle, and as such we have no idea of it's origin. The rifle breaks into two sections of comparable length, a barrel and forearm component and a buttstock/gas cylinder. The barrel is fitted with blade and notch sights, with a fine Damascus pattern, engraving on the muzzle breech and mounting hardware, and an extensively engraved blue steel plate covering the forearm. Constructed from twist steel, the gas tube runs the full length of the buttstock, 19 inches long and 1 1/4 inches thick, with a fancy maple cheekpiece with engraved patch box and buttplate. Included with the rifle is a fancy hardwood case with attractive engraved silver corner reinforcement and lid accents, and green felt lining, which contains a threading wrench, ramrod, pellet mold, and a piston style air pump.

Excellent with over 97% of the original brown twist steel finish, showing some mild edge wear and a few areas of spotting. The wood is excellent, with some dings, heaviest on the forearm, and attractive grain. Case and accessories are both very fine, with exception of a chip of wood absent from the inside of the case, pressure dents and mild handling marks. The firing mechanism is in working order, though not tested under pressure. A truly extraordinary and unique cased air rifle!
