Description:

Manufactured in 1929. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, the left side "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 32-20" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the uncircled Rampant Colt. Matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap, loading gate is marked with the assembly number "179" and the left upper front of the trigger guard bow is marked with the number "3" over the Colt triangle "VP" proof. The back strap has a crude floral vine lightly engraved on it. The front sight has been altered by cutting it down and adding a brass blade, frame notch rear sight, casehardened frame and hammer with blue on the remaining parts and fitted with two piece checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 75% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the grip straps and some thinning and wear on the muzzle end of the barrel. The cylinder shows a number of scratches, some thinning and high edge wear. The frame and hammer retain 60% original case colors with thinning to a smooth silver gray on the recoil shield and loading gate. The factory grips are numbered to another gun "3229", are a bit ill-fitting and remain very good with a few very small chips along the bottom edge of the left panel and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
