Description:

Blade front and "C" marked M1879 ladder rear sights, with the "V/ P/ eagle head/ P" proofs on the left side of the barrel near the breech. Low arch breechblock marked "U.S./ MODEL/ 1873", and "U.S./ SPRINGFIELD" marked lock plate with three-click tumbler. Smooth "short wrist" stock with sling ring, 2-piece trigger guard, and steel "U.S." marked buttplate with compartment.

Rating Definition:

Good, with mostly, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall. Some mild pitting. The case colors have faded, with some traces on the underside of the breechblock. Stock is fair, with weathered cracks, chips and no visible cartouches. Mechanically very good.
