Description:

Scarce Philippine Constabulary Cartridge Belt with two-piece brass, "P.C." belt plate. The two-piece saddle leather belt has thirty .45 caliber cartridge loops sewn to the belt body. The loops appear to be for .45 caliber revolver cartridges. Accompanying the belt is a scarce Rock Island Arsenal holster for .38 D.A. revolvers. The third type of holster is made of fair leather with extended belt loop attached with three rivets. The holster body is embossed with "US" in an oval and the flap is stamped: "Rock Island/Arsenal/E.H.S" in three lines. The sub-inspection initial's are stamped at the bottom of the flap. Philippine Constabulary accouterments were made in limited numbers, saw hard service and are rare. The third type .38 D.A. holsters were made only in 1902.

Rating Definition:

The holster is very fine with some minor handling marks and flex wear and some missing stitching, with some minor cracking along the spine and fading "US" embossing. The cartridge belt is fine with minor to moderate age cracking and some missing stitching. The brass has an untouched attractive aged patina.
