Description:

The left side of the receiver has the standard U.S./model marking along with the serial number. Pinned blade front sight and rear sight adjustable to 2000 yards. The stock has a clear script "JSA / 1900" boxed cartouche on the left side and a clear circled script "P" proof in the pistol grip area behind the trigger guard. Compartment buttplate, sling and stacking swivels, and a 1898 dated "US" marked bayonet with scabbard. The number "44" is stamped on the bayonet pommel.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel, barrel bands and receiver retain 95% original blue finish with some thinning to a brown patina (more prevalent on the barrel bands and receiver) and some minor wear from the bayonet. The buttplate has a mixed brown and gray patina. The receiver and loading gate retain 95% original oil quenched finish. The stock and handguard are also excellent with some very scattered minor handling marks. The stock cartouche is clear and crisp. The bayonet has some very scattered minor pitting on the sharpened blade, otherwise very fine.
