Description:

This black wool cap has three rows of white piping. There is a early style silver SS Totenkopf insignia on the cap band, with a early silver Nazi party eagle with out-stretched wings clutching a wreath that surrounds the Nazi Swastika above. The cap was worn by recruits in training at both of the training locations associated with the Leibstandarte, the Sonderkommando Zossen, and the Sonderkommando Juterbog, north of Berlin. The cap was used as a lower enlisted rank's service cap and a field cap. The interior is lined with tan linen, with a vented brown leather sweat band and a brown fabric on the crown. The underside of sweatband is marked "STOSSTRUPP/ ADOLF HITLER". The crown has the SS markings in a circle in the center, with "SS-VA/1933" in a box behind.

Rating Definition:

Very good with light wear overall. White piping has yellowed with age. The silver insignias have darkened with age. Linen lining is very good, and the leather sweatband shows little wear, with some minor stains. The brown fabric on crown is faded as are the markings. There is a tear, and heavy wear overall.
