The top of the receiver ring is marked "bnz / 43" with the serial number and eagle firing proof on the left side. "Mod. 98" is marked on the left receiver wall. The trigger guard is numbered to the gun and has two "eagle/77" proofs with and "eagle/WaA77" proof on the floor plate. The bolt assembly is numbered to the gun. Breech end of barrel has an eagle firing proof on left side and "bO" on right. Pistol grip stock with handguard and cupped buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 85% original blue finish, with the balance between a smooth gray patina and a smooth brown patina, with a purple hue on the bolt and rear receiver. There is some minor flaking on the barrel and some minor spotting mostly on the buttplate. The wood is very good with some scattered minor handling marks and a couple larger gouges on the underside of the stock. Someone has unscrewed the recoil bolt washer on the right side.
