Description:

SS Cavalry Officer's visor cap with peak front profile. This field gray wool visor has a black velvet band and a black lacquered visor with yellow piping and silver cords. A dark silver "SS Totenkopf" insignia appears on the velvet band with a dark silver Nazi party eagle with out-stretched wings clutching a wreath that surrounds the Nazi Swastika. The interior is lined with tan fabric and has a tan leather sweat band. The standard clear celluloid makers diamond is marked "Pekiiro/ Stirndruckfrd/ DEUTSCHES REICHSPATENT", with tag below label marked "Hstuf. R. Ternedde/ Danmark". Consignor states that Rudolf Ternedde, was awarded the Gold Close Combat Award on April 23, 1945 and the German Cross in Gold on November 14, 1944. Ternedde was a member of SS Panzier Grenadier Rgt. 24, and his highest rank was Obersturmbaunfuhrer.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The exterior has no holes and some light wear overall. The pins have darkened with age. The lining is very good with minor wear. The sweat band is good with some minor staining and discoloration.
