Description:

This is a late war K43 Rifle that was manufactured by the Walther factory in early 1945. These rifles were the German's answer to the U.S. M1 Garand and the Russian Tokarev SVT38 rifle in that they provided an significant increase in semi-automatic fire. This rifle is fitted with the rough, late war type three cast receiver that has only the single bolt guide on the left side, which is marked on the left side of the receiver with a single Eagle firing proof, Eagle 359 Waffanemt/K43/ac 45/ 381c. The bolt carrier is also the late war version that has reinforcing web directly behind the front edge, but it is not marked with the reversed 45, that still retains the cocking knob on the left side with the bolt hold open latch on the right side. The action cover is the late war stamped version with the sliding dust cover. It has the standard front and rear sight with the standard length barrel that is not fitted with a muzzle nut. The right side of the action has the integral dovetailed scope base and it has been fitted with an original (non-matching) Walther proofed ZF4 sniper scope mount and scope. The mount is an earlier version that was originally fitted to two different rifles as it carries a serial number on both ends. The rear most portion of the mount is numbered "49075", there is a single Eagle 359 Waffenamt in the center with the front end numbered "8889". The scope is late war version made by the Voigtlander & Sohns Braunschweig, and is marked "Gw ZF4/49075/ddx", that is fitted with the blued scope bands and locking lever. The stock and handguard are the correct late war laminated versions with the cupped buttplate. The right and under side of the buttstock have a single small Eagle 359 proof. This rifle is complete with an original unmarked leather sling, a cleaning rod, front sight cover, rubber eyepiece, three original WWII spare magazines, correctly marked on the side K43 with a standard Waffenamt proof, and a clear plastic M1911A1 pistol invasion cover.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% of the blue/phosphate metal finish with some light blue wear on the edges and high spots, with some blue loose and thinning on the muzzle area, the left side of the receiver, and the action cover. The stock and handguard are both in fine condition and show a old, very light sanding that has been hand rubbed with varnish or linseed oil, that still retains the visible proofmarks on the sides. The scope retains 95% of its original blue finish with light wear and blue loose on the front end of the scope and the scope body itself. The optics are clear, with no specks that have just a little hazy/blurriness around the edges. The magazines are all in very good condition.
