Top of receiver has an eagle/37 proof over "ce /43" with an eagle firing proof on left side and an eagle/280 proof on the right with "Mod. 98" on left receiver wall. Barrel has eagle firing proof on left side and "fxo" on right. Laminated stock with cupped buttplate. Complete with an "E. Pack & S" bayonet numbered "8416C" with scabbard and frog.

Very good. The rifle retains 50% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some very scattered minor pitting. There is an area of unknown residue on the buttplate. The wood is fine with some cracking along the grain, a deep cut in the grip area, and some minor handling marks. The bayonet is very good with some minor pitting and a sharpened blade.
