Description:

This is an example of a G41 rifle produced by the Berlin-Lubecker company. These rifles were produced early on in the production cycle of the G41/G43 Series of semi-automatic rifle and used the "Bang Gas-Trap" system which employed a barrel mounted "Gas Trap" muzzle cone to trap hot gas that was bled off when the round was fired which cycled the action. This entire series of rifles was very short lived and they saw extensive use on the Eastern Front. Consequently, their survival rate is very low in any condition. The left side of the receiver on this rifle is marked "G 41 duv 43" followed by an "eagle/214" proof and the serial number. The receiver has the machined bolt and bolt carrier with the early machined action cover. The trigger guard and box magazine are the correct stamped wartime versions. The stock is the correct wartime laminated model that is marked on the right side with a double Eagle 214 Waffenamt proof and a single Eagle 214 Waffenamt proof in the pistol grip area. The rifle is equipped with the early production black phenolic resin (plastic) hand guard as manufactured in 1941/42. Matching numbers on the front sight, muzzle cone, receiver, action cover, bolt carrier, trigger guard, magazine, and stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle retains 80% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The stock and hand guard are good with some minor dings and scratches, with a crack on the right side behind and below the receiver, and it is missing the bolt latch mechanism, otherwise action is fine.
