Description:

This is a nice example of a mid-WWI German Army issue Luger pistol. The top of the chamber area is dated 1916 and the toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The full serial number is correctly stamped in the military fashion on the underside of the barrel, the left side of the barrel extension, and the front of the frame with the last two digits "09" stamped on the various small parts. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". Fixed sights. The back strap has the stock lug, nickel magazine with wooden base numbered to another gun, and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% original blue finish with some mild thinning on the muzzle and some high edge wear. 75% of the original straw color remains on the small components. The grips are also excellent with some slight high point wear, minor handling marks and very crisp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
