A) U.S. Inland Division M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine

Manufacturer: Inland
Model: M1 Carbine
Type: Carbine
Gauge: 30 Carbine
Barrel: 18 inch round
Finish: parkerized
Grip:
Stock: walnut
Item Views: 6018
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 290
Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun
Description:

Produced early in 1943 by the Inland Division of General Motors, this carbine remains substantially correct with most of the early WWII production features, and is consecutively serial numbered to the "B" M1 Carbine in this lot. Though over 7 million M1 Carbines were produced by Inland alone, they were scattered worldwide during the fight against the Axis, and further spread among America's allies and trading partners in the post-War years, making a sequential pair such as this rare indeed. Equipped with blade front and two leaf rear sights, a "2-43" dated Inland barrel, an "AMCO" marked Type III barrel band, "A.I." marked flat bolt, first pattern milled "INLAND" trigger guard, smooth push button safety, M1 style "M" magazine catch, "HI" marked hammer, correct "PI" marked operating slide, and a later low wood, oval cut M1 stock with 2-rivet "PU" handguard, marked "IO" in the sling slot and stamped with a single large cross-cannon Ordnance cartouche on the right side next to a boxed "RIA/E.B." cartouche. Complete with one blue "UI" magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent as Arsenal refurbished, with 98% of the parkerized finish overall, showing minor wear concentrated on the high edges. The stock and hand guard both have a nice matching medium brown color with minor dings and handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.

Equipped with the correct early pattern high wood stock with 2-rivet "IO" handguard, "53" on the left side next to the chamber, "P" on the grip, "IO" and "flaming bomb" in the sling slot, "I" oiler slot, and "3 43" stamped on the left side near the buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 98% of the original GI parkerized finish, showing some minor wear concentrated on the receiver side rail and high edges. An excellent pair of M1 carbines with rare sequential serial numbers.
