Description:

The HMMWV was introduced in 1979 by AM General Corporation to replace the aging "jeep" type 1/4 ton utility vehicles that preceded it. In 1981 a contingent of Humvee's was sent to the Yakima Washington training center for extensive testing, the first Humvee was used in a combat situation in Panama in 1989. Over 10,000 so far have been sent to and used in the Iraqi war. Numerous modifications for safety and operation have been made since the introductory models, including a diesel and an electric hybrid model. The HMMWV is the backbone of the American military transportation and is also a mainstay in numerous foreign militaries including Greece, Bulgaria, Poland and Egypt to name just a few. This camouflage unit retains many unit and Military Police markings, several personal decals and painted logos and "M/Sgt Beyer" stenciled on the windscreen, equipped with full canvas, canvas doors indicating that this is a non-armored model. The engine is an eight cylinder model with all military modifications and air conditioning. Produced by AM General Corporation, the nomenclature panel on the truck shows that it was constructed 19 July 1990, the serial number is "REC28D1705004593WI" by the Wisconsin D.O.D. Included in the interior are a radio mounting base with loaded antenna base on the exterior, First Aid kit remnants, a traffic control stop paddle with German "Halt Bundesweir" and red light, a tool kit and a mounted aluminum briefcase on the transmission hump. Included is State of Florida title (63251282) issued 08/12/92 showing the VIN of "REC48D1005004594" on a 1990 Recd pickup and a U.S. Army Equipment Record Folder with Army Operators Manual and various civilian maps and a partial maintenance sheet. The odometer reads 39000 miles.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with no visible dents or oxidation, the paint and markings are top notch. The tires are excellent with 70% of the tread remaining with a spare tire and changing tools in the covered bed. The seat covers are very good with normal wear and small seam separation in some areas, a small tear in the roof lining that does not have an effect on the weather tightness. No visible damages were observed in the exterior canvas. As is. We do not guarantee the mechanical condition and advise prospective buyers to have their own inspection.
