Description:

Produced post-war and equipped as a Type II National Match rifle. "NM/062" marked blade front sight and hooded peep "NM" rear sight, with "NHC" and "NM" windage knob, "NM/2A" sight base, and "595" marked aperture. The barrel is marked "NM" on the front left, with the chamber marked "SA F6535448 9-54 A213B" along with "Heart", "P" and "cross" stamps. The late post-war high hump gas cylinder is marked "NM" on the heel with a four slot plug, and the right side of the receiver is marked "T17/ F6528291". Other parts are as follows: Trigger housing: D28290-12-SA; Trigger guard: stamped unmarked; Hammer: SA C5546008; Safety: MXR; Bolt: 6528287-SA/A16; Operating Rod: 7790722-RA with "NM" on top of the cocking handle; Bullet Guide: stamped marked 12; Follower Arm: unmarked; Operating Rod Catch Assembly: single bevel unmarked. The stock and handguards are the correct walnut versions; they have the late accuracy improvements where the barrel band and front handguard have been unitized (glued together ONLY) and the stock has been glass bedded. The left side of the stock has the DOD acceptance cartouche and a single "P" proof in the pistol grip area.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, with 99% plus original parkerized finish, showing slight wear on the edges and high spots overall. Excellent wood, with some light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. An exceptional example of an original U.S. Springfield National Match rifle.
