Description:

1) Model 1918 Trench Knife, with 6 3/8" double edge blade and Au Lion stamp on ricasso. Grooved handle marked "1918" and "A30" on the opposite side, with pyramid shaped knuckle studs. 2) Model 1917 Trench Knife, with 9" blue triangular spike blade. Cross guard is marked "U.S./ L.F.&C./ 1917". Wooden finger groove handle, with pyramidal knobs on blue knuckle bow. Leather scabbard, with wire hanger, metal tip and throat and marked "JEWELL 1918". 3) As described in "2", but with triangular flanges on knuckle bow and inside edge marked "A.C. CO. U.S.A. 1917".

Rating Definition:

1) Poor. Blade is heavily pitted, with partially illegible makers mark. Handle is fair with the knuckle studs worn down, age darkened bronze patina, and very little of black finish remaining. 2) Good with light wear and some chips along edge. 80% of the blue remains. Guard is bent. Handle is fair, with heavy bruising. Scabbard is fair with moderate wear to leather and a dark age patina on metal. 3) Good with 65% of the blue remaining. Handle is good with light wear. Scabbard is fair with moderate wear to leather and light oxidation on metal parts.
