Description:

1) U.S.1880 Entrenching Knife, 8" shovel, with sharpened edge, ribbed grip marked "US". Includes "U.S" marked leather sheath with brass throat and hanging ring. 2) U.S. 1873 Trowel Bayonet. An improvement on earlier designs, the Model 1873 was the first trowel bayonet to see full production. 10" long and 3 1/2" wide bright spade shaped blade, with blue socket marked "PAT.APR.16th72" and a swivel lock hilt. 3) 1904 Hospital Corps Bolo with 12" rounded blade and marked "SA/ flaming bomb/1909" on the left ricasso and "U.S./8776" on the right. Brass cross guard, with finger grooved wooden handle. Scabbard is brown leather marked "L.S. / 1ST F.J. N.J./ 29 /ROCK ISLAND/ ARSENAL/ 1912/ H.E.K.", with brass throat marked "122". 4) Collins No. 1005 Army Machete, with 14 5/8" blade marked "NO 1005" and "COLLINS & CO/HARTFORD". Full tang and two-piece wood handle, with four grip rivets. Brown leather scabbard with brass throat and tip and tooled design.

Rating Definition:

1) Good with a bright blade and some minor spotting. Scabbard is good with minor pressure dents and some light scuffing. 2) Good with some light surface oxidation and minor handling marks overall. 3) Fair with some spotting and minor chipping along edge. Handle is poor with some chipping and hairline cracks. Scabbard is good with light wear overall, minor bruising and some stains. Brass throat has very little blue remaining and there is some verdigris on metal parts. 4) Fair with heavy wear overall. Moderate pitting and some surface oxidation, with jagged edge. Handle shows minor wear with some pressure dents. Scabbard is fair with staining to the leather and some minor cracking. Brass has a dark age patina, with moderate scratches overall. Traces of verdigris.
