Manufactured in 1941, this Colt Woodsman Target pistol is marked in the style of the pistols acquired by the U.S. Navy during the Second World War. Adjustable Patridge front and notch rear sights, with the right side of the frame marked "PROPERTY / U.S. NAVY / G.HD." (we have no factory letter to verify the aforementioned marking), the reverse marked "THE WOODSMAN" above a cross-cannon mark, and the barrel marked "MATCH/ (bullseye)/ TARGET" on the left with the two line address and patent mark on top. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped "e/ VP" and the number "23" is on the reverse. Fitted with extended checkered plastic grips with the Rampant Colt at the tops.

Fine, with 75% of the blue finish, exhibiting thinning and blue loss evenly over the entire pistol, with the balance of the metal surfaces showing a smooth, light gray patina. There is an area of touch up and some minor pitting on both sides of the frame directly under the markings, and a small dent is visible on the front sight. The grips are excellent with a few mild handling marks. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
