Behind the sights the rib is marked "SAML & C. SMITH PRINCES STREET LEICESTER SQUARE LONDON". The bottom flats are marked with a faint unreadable marking, as well as crown proofs "6629" and "H.S". The locks, hammer sides and trigger guard are floral scroll engraved with a fish scale motif on the upper portion of the hammers. The locks are marked "SAML & C. SMITH / PRICES ST LONDON". Each lock is equipped with a sliding hammer safety. Wood and brass ramrod and one piece, checkered pistol grip half stock with a metal grip cap, floral scroll engraved patch box and metal shotgun buttplate. In a leather-wrapped wooden case with green felt lining and Samuel & Charles Smith label affixed to the inside of the lid.

Rating Definition:

Very good. An even "shadow" of the Damascus pattern remaining on the barrels. The locks, hammers and trigger guard have a smooth gray patina with traces of bright blue finish on the trigger guard. There is a sliver absent on the upper right side edge of the forearm, otherwise the refinished stock is fine with a few minor dings and dents, and crisp recut checkering. Unless noted above, the markings and engraving are clear. The action is fine. The case is good with exception of the lid sides being absent, the lid partially separated, a strap and loops absent with some torn lining.
