Description:

Switzerland was the first country to adopt the Luger as a military sidearm with its contract purchase of the Model 1900 from DWM. Once WW I started DWM could no longer supply Switzerland with Lugers so the Swiss firm of Waffenfabrik Bern produced its own version of the Model 1906. This pistol is one of the Swiss made copies of the German Model 1906. Approximately 17,000 of these pistols were manufactured for the Swiss military and were most likely produced between 1918 and 1933. The top of the chamber is blank and the top of the toggle is marked "WAFFENFABRIK / BREN" under the Geneva Cross, the right side of the barrel extension, frame in front of the trigger and left rear of the barrel are marked with the Geneva cross, and the left side of the barrel extension is marked with the small "+/M" marking. The extractor is marked "GELADEN". The matching serial number is marked on the front of the frame and underside, rear of the barrel and "31" is marked just below the rear sight. The pistol is blue with straw colored take down lever, trigger, magazine release and safety lever. Nickel plated magazine marked with a script "P" on the lower spine and plastic base. Fitted with the standard checkered grips with smooth borders.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% original blue finish with some minor muzzle and high point wear, and minor thinning on the front strap. There are a few small minor dings and scratches. The small components retain 95% original straw color with some wear on the edges and thinning on the safety lever. The grips are also excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks, with sharp checkering. The markings remain sharp. Mechanically excellent.
