Description:

A Mauser model 98, commonly called the Model 1903 Siamese Mauser with inverted "V" and tangent sights, sliding dust cover, straight bolt handle, and buttplate with compartment (sliding cover plate). The top of the receiver ring shows the stamped "Charka" and model designation with the left side of the receiver having the Imperial Japanese Army Arsenal at Tokyo (Kowisikawa) marking. Finger groove stock with handguard and sling swivels. "4153" is stamped on the stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle retains 20% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some scattered minor pitting. There is a missing sliver of wood on the dust cover cut-out (left side), otherwise the wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches and a few minor gouges.
