Description:

1) Shin-Gunto sword, 27 1/8" long blade with a slightly wavy, well defined hamon and gold washed copper habaki. Military pattern tsuba, with a set of brass and silver seppa on each side. Martial tsuka, with brown cord wrap, and metal shod saya with brown cord sageo. 2) Sword, 25 3/4" blade with a few jagged sections on the otherwise straight hamon, brass habaki with untranslated markings on the left side, round brass tsuba with copper sunburst seppa. Martial tsuka, black rayskin with brown cord and mum pattern menuki. Speckled black lacquered saya, with dual suspension rings and a red and silver sageo. 3) Type 98 NCO sword, 27 1/2" single fuller blade numbered "65686", brass habaki, seppa and tsuba, Kokura marked fuchi, painted tsuka, and saya numbered to match with hand scratched markings and brown cord.

Rating Definition:

1) Very fine with light scratches and spotting on the blade, even wear on the tsuba and kashira and light wear on the saya. 2) Good. The blade shows mild spotting with fading of the hamon. Some pitting on the habaki. Staining of the wrap and some finish loss on the saya. 3) Good with some light wear overall.
