The top of the chamber has an eagle/135 proof and marked "byf / 44" with an eagle firing proof and serial number on left side and two eagle/135 proofs on right side. Left side of barrel at the breech has two boxed "BK" proofs. Rifle has a commercial short side rail system for mounting a scope which has three main screws and three auxiliary locking screws, along with an unmarked scope. There are no visible numbers on the scope mount. The trigger guard and floor plate are marked "byf". Matching numbers on receiver, bolt, and bolt shroud, with the extractor numbered to another gun. Hooded inverted "V" and tangent sights with an open ended muzzle cover, stamped parts with milled rear barrel band, leather sling, and cleaning rod. Smooth stock with handguard and cupped buttplate. Stock has no visible markings.

Fine as custom assembled. The rifle retains 95% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The wood is excellent with some minor handling marks. The scope retains 70% of the blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with dent at the objective lens and slightly hazy optics. Mechanically excellent.
