Fixed sights, with the model, "ac/ 41" and serial number marks on the left side of the slide, matching numbers and "359" proofs on the major parts, and ribbed brown plastic grips. With a letter from Orvel Reichert, researcher, who indicates that this pistol is listed in Buxton's "The P.38 Pistol, Volume One" as having an early style "Open" or "Horseshoe" sear. As noted in the letter, the backside of right grip panel has a slightly larger "U" shaped milled out area.

Very good as partially refinished, showing a few areas of cold blue touch-up among the 85% blue finish, with areas of gray patina, edge wear and handling marks. The magazine floor plate and locking block have been restamped to match the gun. Grips are very good, with minor pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
