The top barrel flat is marked "COLT / BREVETE" with a crown/letter proof on the left side of lug and the serial number on the underside of the lug. The square back trigger guard is marked "DR" and the Liege proofed and "Colt / patent" marked cylinder has a rolled engraved scene similar to the Colt Ranger and Indian scene. Fitted with a smooth one piece varnish grip and brass grip straps. The consignor states that this rare revolver is the smallest known Colt brevete, was once part of the Dupont collection and is featured in the book EUROPEAN AUTHORIZED AND UNAUTHORIZED COPIES OF COLT REVOLVERS.

Period replated. The revolver retains 95% nickel finish with some minor flaking and blistering. A chip of iron is missing from the nose of the hammer. The grip is excellent with most of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks. Mechanically very good.
