Manufactured in 1927. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address and the left side is marked "38 COLT". The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The upper front left side of the trigger guard is marked with the assemblers number "3" over the Colt triangle "VP" proofmark. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the front and back straps under the grip. The rear face of the postwar replacement cylinder is marked with the Rampant Colt. The front sight has been modified by cutting it down, cutting off the sight line side and adding a silver insert. Casehardened frame, blue remaining parts and fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. Silver engraving plate added to bottom of grip strap. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, barrel length, blue finish, rubber grips and that it was shipped as 1 to Powell and Clement Company, Cincinnati, Ohio on December 22, 1927.

Rating Definition:

Professionally restored. The revolver retains 98% factory style blue finish with light pitting visible under blue with some minor muzzle wear. There are a few scattered areas of minor scratches and small areas of minor pitting under the finish. The frame retains 99% bright case colors with some fading to gray on the high points. Some of the screws show some minor marking. The grips are very fine replacements (numbered 354399), with a few tiny dings and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
