8 5/8" double edged blade, with the acid etched "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) on the obverse and the reverse marked with the RZM logo, "121/ 38" (unidentified maker, 1938 production) and the SS runes. Nickel finished hilt and pommel, with enamel SS runes and the "Nazi eagle/swastika" on the grip. Black enamel and nickel finished sheath, with a black leather vertical suspension belt hanger, marked "DRGM/ RZM M5/8" (Assmann & Sons, Luedenscheid) on the back of the nickel belt clip.

Excellent. The excellent plus, bright blade shows a few light scuffs (caused by scabbard), with some spotting on the guard and pommel. A few tiny chips are visible on the grip. Verdigris build-up is present on the throat, with light scratches on the enamel. Minor cracking of the excellent original leather.
