Description:

Dovetailed blade front and notch rear sights, with two crossed sceptre proofs, a "crown/ GP" and an "crown/ V" on the upper left barrel flat, and the address "CLOUGH & SON, 9 NEW BOND STt BATH" on the top strap and extending to the top flat of the barrel. The left and right sides of the frame bear Adams patent markings, with a hammer catch on the left side and a loading gate with external spring on the right. Scroll engraving is present on both sides, as well as the grip straps, trigger guard and buttcap, along with floral designs on the grip screws. Additionally, the underside next to the trigger guard is marked "I. BRAZIER". Checkered one-piece grip, with a smooth teardrop panel on the left side, a capbox in the butt, and a round silver inscription panel on the back marked "P.G.R.L/ from/ A&H.R.". In a hardwood case with brass reinforced corners and latches, a round panel with an engraved scene of a mounted knight and a dragon on the lid, green felt lining and a 49-round cartridge block.

Rating Definition:

Period refurbished, with 75% of the blue finish, showing areas of gray and brown patina, bright edge wear, and scattered spotting and handling marks. The cylinder shows refurbished bright and vivid case colors. Grip is fine as modified (grip cut on upper left side), with mild pressure dents. Case is fine, with wear and scuffing appropriate to age, along with staining of the inner lining. Mechanically very good.
