Developed in the post-War years, this 1949 rifle was part of a contract with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Protected blade front sight and tangent peep rear sight, with the hand adjustable gas block, bayonet lug, "AL" Armee Luxembourg stamp on the receiver ring with standard address and proofmarks, matching numbers on the receiver and receiver cover, and a smooth pistol grip stock with forearm grooves and cupped metal buttplate. Also included is a green painted hardwood shipping case, spare magazine, cleaning tool, blank firing attachment, grenade launcher with leather belt pouch, bayonet with 9" blade, wood grip, metal sheath and green canvas frog, and two books, "The SAFN-49 Battle Rifle: A Shooters and Collector's Guide" by Joe Poyer and "The FN-49: The Last Elegant Old-World Military Rifle" by Wayne Johnson.

Arsenal refurbished, with 95% of the black finish, showing bright wear along the edges, and a few areas of bright gray patina. Stock is good, with scratches and dents. The case shows a few light cracks. Mechanically excellent.
