Description:

This is a very nice excellent example of an original, unaltered WWI German 1914 pattern Luger as used by all Imperial German forces. These DWM pistol exhibited the best fit and finish of the WWI pistols and have an all rust blued finish with straw colored small parts. The top of the chamber area is dated 1918 for the year of manufacture with the front toggle marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial eagle proof, and the left side of the breech block also has a small Imperial Eagle proof. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear section of the barrel, left side of the breechblock and right side of the barrel extension. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It is fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips, and it has fixed sights, with the stock lug on the back strap. It is complete with one original nickel plate magazine with a wooden base that is numbered "3812t/Imperial Proof"

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with 70% of the faded original blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots. Thinning blue on top of the chamber area, with blue loss on the front and rear grip straps. The various small parts retain 20% of their original straw colors. The grips are in very good plus condition with nice checkering on both sides with only minor handling marks. This pistol has all matching visible numbers except the magazine as noted above.
