Description:

Precise date of production unknown, but this is likely a late 17th Century item and appears to be German. The prod is recurve steel, measuring 16 inches across when strung, with sinew bowstring and wood and metal shims securing the prod. An iron loop is mounted on the front of the stock, with a black silk cord to assist cocking, and the retention plate is a large brass panel, and the sights are adjustable. Equipped with a dual set trigger and brass finger rest trigger guard. Smooth stock, with light carving and decorative brass plates on the buttstock, and a storage compartment on the right side.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The stock wood has been patched towards the front, suggesting that the prong may have originally been further forward, with some mild handling marks overall. A small amount of fraying is visible on the string. Trigger mechanism is in good working order, but otherwise the arm is untested.
