MERKEL SUHL, MADE IN GERMANY, AND MERKEL USA INC TRUSSVILLE, AL. SAFARI 500 N.E.". Each barrel has a wedge of scroll engraving on the chamber sides. Sling swivel on the bottom rib. Scroll engraved Anson and Deely box lock scalloped action with side clips, cocking indicators, double triggers, and tang safety. 90% coverage scroll engraving on the action, trigger guard, and pistol grip cap. The action bottom is marked in gold "AFRICAN SAFARI SERIES NO. 2" over a gold inlay of a elephant head. The 3x grade English walnut stock has fine line checkering, engraved grip cap, small cheekpiece, sling swivel and solid black rubber recoil pad. LOP is 14 1/2 inches. The matching walnut forearm has engraved knuckle and latch with fine line checkering.
