Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrels retain 60% thin original blue finish with areas turning smooth gray and plum. There is minor pitting on the bottom of the barrels under and along the outer edges of the forearm. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. All of the original gold inlay remains. The forearm is good exhibiting some moderate wear to the otherwise crisp checkering and a few minor dents and dings. The stock has been freshened with a coat of varnish some time ago and remains fine with almost all of the varnish remaining and a few scattered minor dents, dings and scratches, with crisp checkering. The engraving is crisp. Mechanically fine. The case is very good overall with a few minor scuffs and edge wear ion the exterior, a frayed edge, a few small holes, a small tear in the lining, otherwise minimal wear.
