Description:

38 inches overall, with a 32 inch blade, fitted with separate sets of double fullers at the ricasso and center of the blade, and etched decoration in those areas, showing a crown over Queen Victoria's cipher in the center on each side, "XLII" on the right, a six pointed star on the right ricasso and "LANDON/ & MORLAND/ JERMYN ST./ St JAMES'S/ LONDON" on the reverse. Basket hilt, with cut-through heart designs, an upturned rear quillion, rounded pommel with cross design, and a wire wrapped rayskin grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with a mixed gray patina overall. The blade shows strong etching and a small amount of spotting and light pitting. A circular gap is present in the right ricasso, possibly where a proof seal was located. The hilt shows a darker brown color, with the rear arm on the right detached from the side, and a few small cracks. The grip is very good, and the fit of the components are tight.
