Gold inlaid "V. HAFNER KGL. HOFBUCHSENMARCHER CASSEL" on solid rib with two gold inlaid bands at the breech. Damascus shotgun barrels, 2 1/2" chambers, choked cylinder/full, extractor. Rifle gauges approximately 11mm. Fine scroll engraving on frame, lock plates, hammers, trigger guard, and forearm hardware. Round knob pistol grip stock with checkered forearm and grip area and checkered board pattern on replacement buttplate. Forearm has carved tip and a silver shield on the underside. LOP: 14"

Very good. The shotgun barrels retain 50% original brown Damascus pattern and the rifle barrel retains streaks of original blue finish, with the overall balance a smooth brown with some patches of minor pitting. The remaining metal surfaces retain traces of original case colors in the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina. The wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches with a couple minor gouges on the buttstock. The forearm checkering is worn and the crudely recut grip checkering has some deep nicks and a large gouge.
